ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 25 FEBRUARY 2004

The  Board  of Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc ("ASCoT") is pleased  to
announce that all the resolutions proposed at the Annual General Meeting held
on  25 February 2004 were passed by Shareholders on a show of hands.  A total
of 37,675,506 proxy votes were received, representing 38.1% of the 98,809,788
Ordinary Shares in issue, in respect of all ten resolutions.
