Board Appointment

The Board of Electra Private Equity PLC is pleased to announce the appointment
of Josyane Gold as a non-executive director of the Company with immediate
effect.

Josyane Gold has 32 years' experience as a lawyer in corporate practice in the
City. For the last 25 years she has been a partner of SJ Berwin where she was a
founder of its private equity and investment funds practices. She continues as
a consultant to SJ Berwin.

There is no information concerning Ms Gold which is required to be disclosed
pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 R of the Listing Rules.
