The following information is given subsequent to Peter Chambré's appointment as
a non-executive director of Spectris plc on 1 August 2006.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13(1) of the Listing Rules, Peter Chambré has
advised that with effect from 26 September 2006 he was appointed to the board
of BTG plc as a non-executive Director.

There is no further information which would require disclosure under paragraph
9.6.13 (2-6) of the Listing Rules.
