A FLAGGING NOTIFICATION REFERRED TO IN CHAPTER 2, SECTION 9, OF THE SECURITIES

MARKETS ACT ON A CHANGE IN HOLDINGS

As a result of completion of the share purchase agreement referred to in a

flagging notification dated 8 February 2007, the holdings of Exista hf. and its

group companies now represent more than one twentieth (1/20) of the total

number of shares and voting rights in the Sampo Plc.

Under chapter 2, section 9 of the Securities Markets Act, we herby notify the

Financial Supervision Authority and the Sampo Plc. of the following:

1. Name of the company in which holdings have been acquired

Sampo Plc. (Sampo Oyj)

2. Reason for the notification

This notification is made because the holdings of Exista hf. and companies

controlled by Exista hf. in Sampo Plc. exceed the flagging threshold of

one-twentieth (1/20) calculated of the number of votes and shares set forth in

chapter 2, section 9 of the Securities Markets Act.

3. Date of change in holdings

11 April 2007

Exista hf. holds the shares in Sampo Plc. through its subsidiaries. These

subsidiaries are controlled by Exista hf. within the meaning of chapter 1,

section 5 of the Securities Markets Act. Therefore, the holdings of these

subsidiaries shall be included in the holdings of Exista hf.

owned subsidiaries of Exista hf.

Exafin B.V. is a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Basiliko Glennalla S.àr.l., a

private limited company registered in Luxembourg with organization number

115.830. Exista hf. owns and holds 100 per cent of the shares and votes in the

Basiliko Glennalla S.àr.l.

9. Additional information

In addition, the agreements referred to in the flagging notification made on 8

February 2007 that Exista fjárfestingar ehf. has made entitle the company to

acquire in total 34,734,268 A shares in Sampo Plc., representing 6.00% of the

all the shares and 5.95% of all the votes in Sampo Plc.
