Change of Senior Independent Director

APPOINTMENT OF NEW SENIOR INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

Reckitt Benckiser plc (the "Company") announces that, with immediate effect:

 1. Graham Mackay has succeeded Kenneth Hydon as the nominated Senior
    Independent Director of Reckitt Benckiser plc (the "Company") in accordance
    with Provision A.3.3 of the Combined Code on Corporate Governance (the
    "Code") published in June 2006. Mr Mackay was appointed a Non-Executive
    Director of the Company in February 2005 and is a member of the
    Remuneration Committee. He is Chief Executive of SABMiller plc.
   
 2. Mr Hydon replaces Peter White as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr Hydon
    was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Company in December 2003. He
    was, until July 2005, Financial Director of Vodafone plc. He is currently a
    non-executive director of Tesco plc, the Royal Berkshire NHS Trust and
    Pearson plc.
   
Mr White has resigned the Chairmanship of the Audit Committee since, with
effect from 1st December 2006, he will be considered to be non-independent in
accordance with Provision A.3.1 of the Code, having served as a Director of the
Company for more than nine years.
