Initial Drilling Programme

Embargoed: 0700hrs, 25 November 2004 Pan African Resources Plc (the "Company") Drilling Programme Pan African Resources Plc is pleased to announce the commencement of drilling programmes at the Company's Wa Gold Project in Ghana and Manica Gold Project in Mozambique. Pan African will, this week, start a 6,000 metre drilling programme in Ghana on the Julie and Colette prospects. Julie Prospect, Wa Gold, Ghana The Julie prospect is part of the Julie concession which covers an area of 74 square kilometres in north west Ghana. Based on previous trench and drilling results the prospect clearly has a considerable resource potential having already identified an inferred resource of over 300,000 ounces of gold to only a shallow depth. The aim of the drilling is to further test the known gold mineralization to increase the quality and quantity of the resource both at depth and along the strike of the structure. Colette Prospect, Wa Gold, Ghana The Collette concession is contiguous with the Julie concession and covers a further area of 82 square kilometres. Initial work on this concession indicated a large anomalous area situated around two shear zones at or near the contacts of the upper Birimian volcanics and sediments. This setting, typical of the setting for some of the larger deposits found elsewhere in Ghana, is considered to be highly prospective. While earlier preliminary drilling produced interesting results, further interpretation and additional structural and regolith mapping has led to the current drill programme which will better test the potential of the prospect. Manica Gold Project, Mozambique The Company will commence a further 2,000 metre drilling programme next week in Mozambique on a number of its prospects within the Manica Gold Project. Recent work has included further geochemical, magnetic and IP surveys to better understand the structures and mineralization of the two main zones, the Dot's Luck - Fair Bride zone and the Guy Fawkes - Boa Esperanca zone, of the project area. This follow up drilling programme is designed to test for extensions to the mineralization already defined at the Fair Bride West prospect where significant intersections have already been reported. Drilling of the Dot's Luck and Boa Esperanca prospects to also test for extensions to the known mineralization and drilling of the as yet untested significant soil anomalies at Vinganca and Palhada. Drilling will continue into the new year, however early results from both Ghana and Mozambique should be available early next year. -Ends- For further information please contact, Roger Craddock Managing Director, Pan African Resources Plc Tel. 07785 364 291 Ben Simons Hansard Communications Tel. 020 7245 1100
