The Company has today been advised that Mrs CM Clarke, the wife of a Director
of the Company, acquired on 24 January 2007, 81 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 380.75p each.
The shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie share plan.

Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 25,361 shares,
representing 0.048% of the issued share capital.

The Company was further advised that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a Director of
the Company, acquired on 24 January 2007, 517 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 380.75p each.
The shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 32,952 shares,
representing 0.063% of the issued share capital.
