TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 4 May 2007 it transferred 37,958 Ordinary Shares currently held
in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc 1995 Executive Share Option
Scheme' and the `Hays plc 2003 Long-Term Co-Investment Plan'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 107,753,868 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,456,342,698 (excluding treasury
shares).
