Fidelity Japanese Values PLC announces that the Company has today been informed
that, as at the close of business on 14 July 2003, The Bank of England Pension
Fund had an interest in 3,500,000 ordinary 25p shares in the Company
(representing 3.56% of the shares in issue). These shares are registered in the
name of The Securities Management Trust Limited.
