Tender Offer

The Board of BlackRock Commodities Income Investment Trust plc announces that
it has consulted its broker JPMorgan Cazenove Limited regarding the possible
forthcoming tender offer as at 2 March 2009. After due consideration the Board
has concluded that it is not in the interests of shareholders to implement the
next tender offer.

The Board will continue to monitor the level at which the shares trade relative
to net asset value. The next possible tender offer will therefore be as at 1
September 2009 and an announcement in this regard will be made in due course.
