BlackRock Commodities Income Investment Trust plc ("the Company") announces the
the retirement of Mr David Gibbs as a Director of the Company with effect from
the conclusion of the Company's forthcoming Annual General Meeting on Tuesday,
13 March 2012. Accordingly, the resolution in respect of his re-election which
is due to be proposed at the Annual General Meeting will be withdrawn with the
consent of the meeting.

The Board, would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Gibbs for the
important contribution he has made since the Company came into being in
December 2005 and wishes him well for the future.
