Announcement Arakan Resources Limited Board Changes Mr Christian West today announced that Mr Paul Devine will join the board of Arakan as Managing Director. It is further anticipated that subject to receipt of the required documentation and regulatory approvals, that Mr George Edwards will be appointed as Chairman of Arakan. Mr George Edwards has over 40 years experience in the coal industry in both mine production and marketing. He has a rich knowledge of the region and of the markets that will be the buyers of coal off take from the project. George has sat on the board of a number of coal companies and will bring to the Arakan business a great depth expertise in how to maximise both the potential of the operations, and the growth of the business going forward. George was also a co chair of the standards committee in Australia and was responsible in part for the establishment of the rules around JORC compliance. Mr Paul Devine lives in Kyrgyzstan and has spent several years understanding the project and the environment in which Arakan will operate significant parts of its business going forward. Mr Devine will join as Managing Director. Mr Devine has a background in financial services and has established successful capital houses in Australia and in the CIS region. He has been involved in mining acquisitions and listed companies in Australia for a number of years. Paul's experience and drive will allow Arakan to maximise the potential for growth in the CIS region and also deliver a strong and tight stewardship over the current operations. The current board of Arakan welcomes the additions to the Board and believes that the experience acquired will complement and enhance the management structure.
