Vice Chairman David Nadler to Retire from Marsh & McLennan Companies at Year End

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE:MMC), a global professional services firm offering advice and solutions in risk, strategy, and human capital, today announced that Vice Chairman David Nadler will retire from the Company at year end. Dr. Nadler, who turns 65 in November, joined Marsh & McLennan Companies in 2000 when the Company acquired Delta Consulting Group.

Dr. Nadler was the founder and CEO of Delta Consulting Group and continued to serve as CEO of Mercer Delta Consulting through 2005. In early 2007, Dr. Nadler became Vice Chairman, Office of the CEO, of Marsh & McLennan Companies. He is a member of the Company’s Executive Committee and also serves as co-chairman of the board of the Marsh & McLennan Agency, a subsidiary of Marsh, our insurance broking and risk management firm.

Dr. Nadler is well known for his research and writing on organizational change, corporate governance, organization design, and executive teams. He has written numerous articles and authored and/or edited 16 books on these topics. In 2004, he co-chaired the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Blue Ribbon Commission on Board Leadership, and in 2009 was a member of the NACD Blue Ribbon Commission on Risk and Governance. For five years in a row (2009 - 2013) he was listed in the “Directorship 100” as one of the most influential people in the boardroom and in 2013 was inducted into the NACD Directorship 100 Corporate Governance Hall of Fame.

Prior to founding Delta Consulting Group, Dr. Nadler was an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. He holds a BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University, an MBA from the Harvard Business School, and an MA and PhD in Psychology from the University of Michigan. He is a member of many prestigious professional associations and has been awarded top honors from distinguished psychology and management organizations.
