TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 10 December 2008 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

2,458 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share; and

27,097 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,796,349 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 469,777,090 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
