NEW NON-EXEC DIRECTOR

Amlin Plc AMLIN PLC ('Amlin') PRESS RELEASE For immediate release 15 March 2006 APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Board of Amlin is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Mark Wrightson, Bt., as an independent non-executive Director of Amlin, with immediate effect. Sir Mark, who is aged 55, is the Co-Chairman of Close Brothers Corporate Finance Limited, a subsidiary of Close Brothers Group plc. He was formerly Chairman of the London Investment Banking Association Corporate Finance Committee and a member of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers. He is a non-executive director of Tees Valley Regeneration Limited and was a non-executive director of British Vita plc from 2004 until its sale in 2005. He will be proposed for election by shareholders at the first Annual General Meeting following his appointment, which is to be held on 25 May 2006 and for which the Notice of Meeting is expected to be posted to shareholders in early April.
