Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

 

Velocity Composites plc (AIM: VEL), the leading supplier of advanced composite material kits to the aerospace market, is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Fowler to the Board as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from 1 September 2026.

 

Matthew will replace Rob Smith, who announced his intention to retire from the role on 23 April 2026. Following his retirement as CFO, Rob will remain as Company Secretary and support a comprehensive handover to Matthew.

 

Matthew brings significant public markets leadership experience, having held Chief Financial Officer roles at The Revel Collective plc, MusicMagpie plc and genedrive plc. He previously served as Group Financial Controller at Scapa Group plc. Matthew has extensive experience of financial reporting, governance and audit matters within UK public companies and is an ICAEW-qualified Chartered Accountant.

Matthew was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of The Revel Collective plc with effect from 16 June 2025. The Revel Collective plc and certain subsidiaries entered administration on 27 January 2026. The group's secured creditor was owed approximately £28.0 million at the date of administration. The administrators' proposals state that no funds are expected to be available for ordinary unsecured creditors. The statement of affairs for The Revel Collective plc recorded a deficiency as regards creditors of approximately £39.0 million.
