                            Repayment of loan notes

ENIC plc ('ENIC') announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, ENIC Sports plc
('Sports'), has repaid the £21.8m of loan notes issued by Sports to Amshold
Limited in February 2001 for the acquisition of 27,365,649 ordinary shares of
Tottenham Hotspur plc.  Repayment was made at the request of Amshold Limited.
