Chair Succession

MISSION Group plc (AIM:TMG) (“MISSION” or “the Group”), a collective of sector-leading Creative, Sports and MarTech Agencies, announces that the Group’s Non-Executive Chair, David Morgan MBE, has notified the Board of his intention to step down from the Board on 31 December 2026.

David rejoined the MISSION Board in November 2023 to oversee a period of significant change for the business. His tenure has seen the Group complete a value restoration plan to rebuild the Group’s balance sheet and strengthen the Group’s Board and Senior Leadership team.

In the last year this culminated in the appointment of Group CEO John Carey who has successfully launched the Group’s ‘Simplify, Prioritise, Invest’ strategic growth plan focussed on the simplification of MISSION’s agency portfolio and cost base, the prioritisation of high value opportunities, AI Innovation and the expansion into select new growth markets. Good progress is being achieved against these strategic priorities, as detailed in the Group’s interim results for the six months ended 30th June 2026, announced separately today.

The Board is pleased to confirm that John Carey will succeed David as Executive Chair. John is supported by a strong senior leadership team comprising of the Agency CEOs alongside the newly refreshed Board which has been significantly strengthened. In the past year, Claudine Collins, Jon Kempster and Emma Wright have been appointed as Non-Executive Directors, bringing vast experience and expertise in their respective fields.

David Morgan MBE, Non-Executive Chair of MISSION, said:

“As Group CEO John Carey has made an overwhelming contribution to the business in the year that he has been with us. He has refocused the Group, made it leaner yet more dynamic in its approach and created a senior management team that I believe is the best in the business. It is with that confidence in the future that I have decided to step down as Chairman at the end of this year and  I recommended to our Board that John becomes Executive Chair as of January 2027. I am delighted that the Board unanimously approved my proposal. Mission is going places and is in very safe hands.”

John Carey, CEO of MISSION, added:

His announcement comes with the Group in a position of strength, with a talented senior leadership team and hugely experienced Board in place to continue to drive delivery of our growth strategy. We look forward to continuing to have the benefit of David’s depth of industry knowledge and experience before he leaves the business at the end of the year.”
