Mr. Jayanta Banerjee, currently serving as the Chief Information Officer, will superannuate from the services of the Company with effect from November 1, 2026.

 

(b)  Appointment of Mr. Manish Garg as the Chief Information Officer

 

Consequent to the superannuation of Mr. Jayanta Banerjee mentioned at point (a) above,

Mr. Manish Garg joined Tata Steel as the Chief Information Officer (Designate) in January 2026 and has been in the role since past 7 months. Mr. Garg is being appointed as Chief Information Officer with effect from November 1, 2026.

 

Mr. Garg has a strong track record in digital transformation, focusing on technology-driven innovation, data-led decisions, and sustainability. Early in his career, he lived and worked across the UK, Europe, and USA, leading cross-cultural global teams and building expertise in delivery, product management, and consultative selling. From 2009 to 2019, he focused on expanding Tata Consultancy Services's banking and capital markets footprint in North America, Latin America and Europe, scaling teams and leading major integration and transformation programmes. Since 2020, he worked across multiple industries beyond BFSI, guiding teams, shaping digital strategy, and championing technology-driven growth and collaboration.
Mr. Garg has close to 29 years of experience at Tata Consultancy Services ('TCS'). He has partnered with clients across BFSI, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, energy, communication, and other industries, solving complex business challenges through technology and collaboration. He holds a B.E. from SGSITS Indore, an M.Tech. in Thermal Sciences & Fluid Mechanics from IIT Kanpur, and an M.Tech. in Social & Behavioural Sciences from IIT Delhi. His work with business leaders and CIOs at leading global banks and major process industries has enabled him to adopt best-in-class management practices across strategy, governance, execution and stakeholder alignment. His holistic understanding of the evolving information technology landscape, combined with his leadership, planning, problem-solving and digital capabilities, makes him the most suitable successor for this position.
