ANNOUNCEMENT - 30 June 2026

Electrica obtains the technical grid connection permits for
17 electricity storage projects, totaling 700 MWh

Societatea Energetică Electrica S.A. ("Electrica" or the "Company") informs investors and the capital market that it has obtained the technical grid connection permits (Romanian ATR) for 17 new battery energy storage projects (BESS), with a total capacity of approximately 700 MWh. Obtaining the connection permits represents a key milestone in the development of the projects: it confirms the technical solution for connecting to the grid and the related conditions, and enables the projects to advance towards design, authorization and execution.

This step marks a concrete development of the energy storage capacity programme announced by Electrica on 17 October 2025, through the BSE: IRIS code: 61988 announcement, as part of the Electrica 2030 Strategy - Strategy for a Sustainable and Innovative Future, which targets 1 GW of generation and at least 900 MWh of storage.

"The 700 MWh for which we have obtained the connection permits demonstrate that Electrica is turning its 2030 strategy into actual projects. Storage strengthens the security and flexibility of the energy system, accelerates the integration of renewable sources and makes efficient use of the Company's own property assets. We intend to bring these capacities into operation by the end of 2027, thereby consolidating Electrica's role in Romania's energy transition.", said Alexandru-Aurelian Chiriță, Chief Executive Officer of Electrica.
