Cancellation of Sampo A shares

The Board of Sampo plc has today decided to cancel 1,282,390 Sampo A shares repurchased in the third quarter of 2011 according to the authorization by the Annual General Meeting. The cancellation reduces the number of Sampo A shares with the corresponding amount.

Once the cancellation is entered into the trade register, the number of Sampo plc's A shares totals 558,800,000. Total number of shares of the company, including 1,200,000 B shares, is 560,000,000 shares.
