Technical update - Kalayi tin deposit

Summary by AI BETAClose X

Rome Resources plc has announced the identification of two new mineralised zones, MINZ8 and MINZ9, at its Kalayi tin deposit in the DRC, along with a significant undrilled continuation of a high-grade tin trend to the southeast, all of which are priority targets for future resource expansion. While these new zones will not be included in the upcoming Kalayi Mineral Resource Estimate, they highlight potential growth beyond currently drilled areas, with an updated MRE from MSA Group expected separately. Additionally, initial surface sampling at the New Brunswick tin-tungsten-indium project in Canada has yielded encouraging results, with follow-up trenching underway.

Technical update

Significant new tin targets identified at the Kalayi deposit ahead of resource reporting

Rome Resources plc (AIM: RMR), the DRC focused critical minerals explorer, is pleased to announce that independent modelling by MSA Group (Pty) Ltd ("MSA") has identified two new mineralised zones, MINZ8 and MINZ9, at its Kalayi tin deposit in the DRC.

Separately, we are pleased to report that MSA has identified a significant undrilled continuation of the high-grade tin trend to the southeast of existing drilling, providing a further priority target for potential resource expansion.

The work forms part of the ongoing Kalayi Mineral Resource Estimate ("MRE") update and highlights further potential beyond the areas included in the forthcoming MRE.

Furthermore, on the Company's optioned areas in Canada, initial surface sampling at Rome Resources' New Brunswick tin-tungsten-indium project has returned encouraging grab sample assays, with follow-up trenching now underway and detailed reporting to follow.

Highlights

·  Two new mineralised zones, MINZ8 and MINZ9, identified at Kalayi, extending the interpreted mineralised system and providing priority targets for follow-up drilling and future resource growth

·   Significant undrilled continuation of the high-grade tin trend identified to the southeast of existing drilling, providing a separate priority target for resource expansion

·    MINZ8 and MINZ9 requires further drilling to establish continuity and, while these zones will not be incorporated into the forthcoming MRE, this highlights the potential resource growth beyond areas currently drilled to resource density.

·  Updated Kalayi MRE being finalised by independent consultants, MSA, and will be announced separately

·     Airborne geophysical interpretation underway across the wider Bisie North Project, providing further  potential to identify new exploration targets

·     Encouraging initial results from New Brunswick, Canada, with assay results and detailed reporting of the exploration results to follow.

Kalayi - new mineralised zones and resource growth potential

MSA's latest modelling has identified two new mineralised zones, MINZ8 and MINZ9, in addition to the mineralised zones previously modelled at Kalayi.  The zones are currently supported by a single drill intersection in borehole KBDD033 in the northern part of Kalayi and requires further drilling to establish sufficient continuity for inclusion in an MRE. These newly identified mineralised zones will therefore not form part of the updated MRE that is currently being finalised.

As previously reported, borehole KBDD033 included a 19.5m intercept (downhole width) averaging 0.52% plus additional shallower intercepts.

Separately, MSA's block model indicates a substantial undrilled continuation of the high-grade tin trend to the southeast of existing drilling (Figure 1).

Together, MINZ8 and MINZ9 as well as the southeast extension provides clear priority targets for follow-up drilling aimed at further growing the Kalayi tin resource.

The updated Kalayi MRE remains in preparation by MSA and will be announced separately.

Airborne geophysical survey and wider Bisie North exploration

Southern Geoscience, a specialist group of geoscientists providing geophysical solutions to the resource industry, is interpreting Rome Resource's recently completed airborne geophysical survey, with results expected by the end of September 2026.  This will assist in identifying further exploration targets across Bisie North.  A key objective of this survey will be to better understand the relationship of the tin mineralisation with the granite contact, especially in relation to the exploration target identified to the southeast of Kalayi.

Paul Barrett, Chief Executive Officer of Rome Resources, commented:

"The identification of MINZ8 and MINZ9, alongside identification of a significant undrilled continuation of the high-grade trend to the southeast, gives us clear targets for the next phase of drilling and further resource growth at Kalayi.

The updated MRE remains an important near-term milestone and these new targets demonstrates the significant potential beyond the areas sufficiently drilled for inclusion in the current MRE.

In parallel, initial results from New Brunswick are encouraging and follow-up trenching is now underway as we build this second potential critical minerals opportunity in Canada."
