Molaoi Drilling Update

Summary by AI BETAClose X

Rockfire Resources plc has announced encouraging drilling results from its Molaoi zinc deposit in Greece, with hole HMO-019 intersecting multiple high-grade zinc, silver, and germanium zones, including a notable 0.10m assay of 27.8% Zn, 87.6g/t Ag, and 84.1g/t Ge. These results, which extend mineralisation down-dip and suggest potential grade increases at depth, are contributing to the company's efforts to upgrade the Inferred Resource to an Indicated Resource status as part of a feasibility study for economic extraction. The company is also progressing technical aspects of the study, including comminution, compressive strength, and ore sorting tests, and anticipates its new drilling rig will arrive in late September or early October.

Intercepts continue to build at Molaoi

Rockfire Resources plc (LON: ROCK), the base metal, critical mineral and precious metal exploration company, provides a drilling update from Rockfire's 100%-owned Molaoi zinc deposit in Greece. Hole HMO-019 has returned multiple high-grade zinc and germanium intersections, including one of the highest recent drilling germanium values with a laboratory analysis of 84.1g/t Ge.

Highlights

·      Diamond drilling to upgrade the Inferred Resource to Indicated Resource status continues with hole HMO-021 currently in progress.

·      Analytical results from Hole HMO-019 have arrived back from the laboratory and include:

0.10m @ 27.8% Zn, 87.6g/t Ag, 84.1g/t Ge from 202.29m downhole depth

3.30m @ 18.9% Zn, 37.2g/t Ag, 25.0g/t Ge at 261.03m downhole depth.

1.50m @ 5.2% Zn, 31.7g/t Ag, 25.4g/t Ge from 225.51m downhole depth

2.28m @ 4.6% Zn, 8.2g/t Ag, 12.0g/t Ge from 272.00m downhole depth

3.24m @ 3.6% Zn, 23.3g/t Ag, 9.7g/t Ge from 251.60m downhole depth

2.27m @ 3.0% Zn, 16.0g/t Ag, 18.8g/t Ge from 282.73m downhole depth

·      Results from the laboratory for drill hole HMO-020 are awaited.

David Price, Chief Executive Officer of Rockfire, commented:

"Multiple intersections in Hole HMO-019 successfully extends mineralisation down-dip on the same section as hole HMO-018. This hole confirms that zinc, silver and germanium mineralisation continues at depth, another 50m deeper than HMO-018, which encountered 3.13m @ 6.0% Zn, 52.7g/t Ag and 18.2g/t Ge.

It is worthwhile noting that the grades intersected in Hole HMO-019 are stronger than those in hole HMO-018, suggesting that grade may increase at depth. This suggestion is yet to be confirmed by additional drilling at depth.

Each hole which returns good zinc, silver and germanium adds tonnage to our targeted Indicated Resource. The completion of an Indicated Resource is part of our scheduled feasibility study into economic extraction of zinc, silver, germanium and lead at Molaoi.

The Company is continuing to fast-track several technical aspects of the feasibility study for Molaoi.

·      Quotes have been requested to undertake comminution tests to determine the appropriate crushing and grinding equipment to include in the planned feasibility study.

·      This quote will include unconfined compressive strength tests to determine the ability of the ground to withstand compressive forces once a void is created during underground mining.

·      The quote being obtained will also include an initial round of ore sorting tests to determine if an uplift in grade is possible prior to milling.

The Company has been notified that our new drilling rig remains on schedule for landing into Athens in late September/early October as originally scheduled.

The market will continue to be informed and updated as we advance the Molaoi Project."
