The following is an extract from the statement by Lord Rothschild at the Annual
General Meeting of RIT Capital Partners plc on 8 July 2004:
'I am pleased to announce that James Leigh-Pemberton, Managing Director of
Investment Banking at Credit Suisse First Boston has agreed to join the Board
with effect from 1 August 2004.
Tim Barakett has served as a Director of the Company since March 2000 and my son
Nat is his alternate. With effect from 1 August 2004, Nat will join the Board
and Tim will become his alternate, thereby reversing the positions which they
currently occupy. I would like to express my gratitude to Tim Barakett for the
significant contribution he has made to your Company during his time as a
Director.'
Notes:
James Leigh-Pemberton, age 47, has worked at Credit Suisse First Boston since
1994, holding positions as Head of Equity Syndicate, Head of Equity Capital
Markets Division and, since 2001, Head of European Investment Banking. Mr
Leigh-Pemberton began his career at S.G. Warburg & Co, where he worked for
fifteen years. He will be an independent non-executive director of RIT Capital
Partners plc.
Nathaniel Rothschild, age 32, is the President and Director of Business
Development at Atticus Capital, a US based hedge fund manager. He is also a
director of Champps Entertainment Inc, a US public company and Chairman of
Vivarte SA, a retail group listed in France. Mr Rothschild began his career as a
Research Analyst at Lazard Investors before becoming a Financial Analyst at
Gleacher & Co in New York. He will be a non-executive director of RIT Capital
Partners plc.
A further announcement will be made prior to 1 August 2004, the effective date
of the directorate changes described above, setting out further information
regarding the new directors as required under Chapter 16 of the UKLA Listing
Rules.
