Proposed Board Changes

 

RentGuarantor (AIM: RGG), a leading provider of rent guarantee services, which includes property protection, to tenants and landlords in the UK1 private rental sector, is pleased to announce the proposed appointments of Ben Thompson, Maya Klein Wassink, and Simon Jackson as independent Non-Executive Directors to the Board.  Additionally, the Company announces that RentGuarantor's current Business Compliance Manager, Amanda Bower, is proposed to join the Board as an Executive Director, in the role of Chief People and Risk Officer, and Non-Executive Director, David Cliff, is proposed to transition to an Executive Director role as RentGuarantor's Director of Research and Innovation.

 

These proposed Board changes reflect RentGuarantor's commitment to strengthening its Board with highly experienced leaders whose expertise in financial services, corporate governance, capital markets and strategic growth will support the Company's next phase of development.  The proposed Board appointments are subject to normal regulatory due diligence and a formal appointment process, which is expected to be completed later this quarter. A further announcement in relation to the proposed Board changes will be made in due course.

Ben Thompson

 

Ben Thompson brings more than 40 years of leadership experience across the financial services and mortgage sectors. He has held a number of senior executive positions, including CEO of ULS Technology plc, where he spearheaded the company over the period when it grew into a £100 million-plus listed business. He is currently Director of Home Moving Strategy at the Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), where he was previously Deputy CEO, and has played a key role in transforming the firm into one of the UK's leading mortgage and financial services groups, over a period when it nearly trebled group revenue and profit. He also served as Managing Director of Legal & General Mortgage Club, over a period when it increased its market share from 9% to 26% over five years, while successfully steering the business through the global financial crisis.

 

Ben has received numerous industry accolades, including five British Mortgage Awards and four Mortgage Strategy Awards.

 

Maya Klein Wassink

 

Maya Klein Wassink is an experienced corporate finance and legal adviser with a background spanning investment banking, capital markets, corporate governance and public company advisory. Maya is a qualified UK solicitor, having trained and practised with Ashurst and Shearman & Sterling before serving as a Vice President in Merrill Lynch's Legal Department. She has advised on complex transactions, stock market listings and major M&A deals. More recently, via her role at Perspective Financial Services GmbH, she acts as an Adviser to Alfred Henry Corporate Finance Ltd, where she has helped growth companies manage their stock market quotations, corporate governance, board composition and ongoing public market obligations, supporting numerous businesses across sectors including financial services and property.

 

Maya also has over 25 years' experience in residential property development in the UK and Switzerland.

 

Simon Jackson

 

Simon Jackson is an experienced public company executive and chartered accountant with over 35 years' experience leading listed wealth management, financial services and professional services businesses. Having served as CEO, CFO and Director across a number of FCA-authorised and regulated organisations, including WH Ireland Group plc and Brooks Macdonald Group plc, he has extensive expertise in corporate finance, governance, M&A, regulatory oversight and business transformation. Simon played a key role at Brooks Macdonald over the period when it grew from a £13 million AIM-quoted business to a wealth management group valued at more than £300 million. Simon is currently an independent director of Bournemouth University and a member of its audit, risk and governance committee.

 

Amanda Bower

 

Amanda Bower joined RentGuarantor in 2025 as Business Compliance Manager.  She is a senior operations, compliance and customer experience leader with over 20 years' experience across financial services, regulated contact centres and operational governance environments. She has a track record in leading operational transformation, compliance oversight, customer experience improvement and high-performing service functions across private, regulated and not-for-profit sectors.
