Orbit Group Limited announces changes to its Common Board, including appointment of new non-executive director

1 April 2026

Orbit Group Limited ('Orbit Group', 'Orbit' or the 'Company') has appointed Steve Batley as non-executive director to its Common Board from 1 April 2026.

Steve's appointment further strengthens Orbit's governance structure, enabling it to continue to provide effective oversight across the organisation's strategic direction, in both supporting the delivery of its 2030 Strategy and its day-to-day operations.

Helen Gillett and Stephen Stone will also retire as non-executive directors from Orbit's Common Board effective 31 March, having served maximum terms of office.

Orbit Common Board Member, Michelle Dovey, will replace Helen as Senior Independent Director, whilst Manpreet Dillon, also an existing Orbit Common Board Member, has been appointed as a Director of Orbit Homes 2020 Ltd, following Stephen's completion of terms. In addition, Lynn Lochead will step down as Director of Orbit Treasury Ltd and Orbit Capital Ltd, after serving her terms of office.

Commenting on the changes, Stephen Jack, Group Chair, said: "We are delighted to welcome Steve to our Board. His experience as a leader in transformational change at a strategic and operational level will complement the capabilities of our existing board members to ensure we are best placed to guide Orbit in achieving its 2030 ambitions.

"I'd also like to thank Helen, Stephen and Lynn for their services to Orbit. Their input and support have been invaluable in guiding Orbit to its position today as one of the UK's leading not-for-profit housing groups."

An experienced leader in strategic and transformational change at both operational and property board level, Steve Batley brings a strong capability in senior oversight across strategic growth, construction, portfolio performance, estate transformation, asset management, and property safety. Currently Group Construction Director at Unite Students, Steve's experience spans IKEA Group and John Laing Group. Steve has also served as an Independent Committee member on Orbit's Strategic Asset Management and Development Committee.
