Hospitales Ángeles Health System Pilots Steriwave^® Nasal Photodisinfection in two flagship Mexican Hospitals

Ondine Biomedical Inc. (AIM: OBI), a leader in light-activated antimicrobial therapies for the prevention and treatment of hospital infections, is pleased to announce a partnership with Hospital Ángeles Health System (Grupo Ángeles Servicios de Salud, S.A. de C.V.; "Hospital Ángeles"), Mexico's largest nationwide private healthcare network to launch a multi-center pilot of Steriwave^® nasal photodisinfection. This expansion follows Ondine's Phase 3 pivotal trial results from its 5,188-patient study in Canadian and US hospitals, with positive topline results showing a 40% reduction in post-surgical infection rates over standard of care alone.

The clinical deployment initially targets two of the network's flagship facilities, with the intent of establishing a new benchmark in infection prevention and pre-operative care:

·      Hospital Ángeles Acoxpa (Mexico City): A premier high-volume robotic surgery hub, Acoxpa will demonstrate how Steriwave's rapid, 5-minute light-activated treatment can seamlessly integrate into fast-paced surgical pipelines without disrupting workflow efficiency.

·      Hospital Ángeles Valle Oriente (Monterrey): Serving an elite domestic demographic and a growing international medical tourism market, this highly specialized center will utilize Steriwave to offer advanced, non-antibiotic protection for complex orthopedic and cardiovascular procedures.

About Steriwave^® and its Mode of Action

Steriwave nasal photodisinfection is a light-activated antimicrobial therapy designed to rapidly eliminate potentially pathogenic microorganisms in the nose, a major reservoir from which pathogens can spread to surgical sites and other parts of the body. Applied by a healthcare professional before surgery, the treatment uses a proprietary photosensitising agent activated by a specific wavelength of red light to produce a rapid antimicrobial effect through oxidative mechanisms. Because the mechanisms are non-antibiotic and act through multiple oxidative pathways, nasal photodisinfection is designed to have a low potential for development of microbial resistance.
