Sale of Magic Pony Technology ('Magic Pony') to Twitter

The Board of Octopus Titan VCT plc is pleased to announce that terms have been agreed for the sale of Magic Pony, an innovative technology company which has pioneered new machine learning techniques for visual processing, to Twitter.

Octopus Titan first invested in Magic Pony in the summer of 2015. This was followed by a further funding round which completed in 2016, making the Company the largest institutional investor.

The sale of Magic Pony to Twitter follows the successful sales of TouchType Limited (Swiftkey) to Microsoft Inc. and of Vision Direct Group to Essilor International S.A. in February 2016. This transaction provides further evidence of the role of VCTs in helping to build great technology companies that are driving economic growth and making a difference to end consumers in the products and services they provide.
