NewRiver appoints Sarah Williams and Edith Monfries to the Board 

NewRiver is pleased to announce the appointments of Sarah Williams as an independent Non-Executive Director and Edith Monfries as an Executive Director of the Company, with effect from 1 August 2026. 

Sarah Williams

Sarah is a Chartered Accountant and joins NewRiver following a 35-year career at Ernst & Young ("EY"), including 25 years as a Partner. During her career she has undertaken a number of complex leadership roles, most recently as Risk Partner and, from 2024, Head of EY's Financial Services Assurance Risk Practice, with responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of a team of risk and compliance professionals supporting EY's wider financial services assurance business. 

Sarah was an EY Audit Committee member between 2019 and 2026. She has also previously served on the Board of Epsom College and Medical Foundation, where she was Governor and Treasurer and chaired the Audit Committee. Upon joining the NewRiver Board, Sarah will be a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Edith Monfries

Edith joined NewRiver in 2015 and has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2018. As Chief Operating and People Officer, she has successfully deployed her operational and financial capability across the business, supporting the continued development of NewRiver's platform and its focus on disciplined execution. 

Her appointment reflects the increasingly operational nature and scale of NewRiver's business, including the growth of its Capital Partnership activities. Retail real estate is a highly operational sector and Edith's appointment will provide the Board with greater direct insight into the underlying operational and financial performance of the business, which is key to delivering future shareholder value. Edith is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified with Deloitte Haskins & Sells.

As we continue to grow our Capital Partnership activities and recognising that retail real estate is a highly operational business, Edith's experience will enhance the Board's understanding of underlying performance and support our focus on delivering long-term shareholder value."
