                   Murray Income Trust PLC ('the Company')

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange Plc and the UK Listing
Authority for a total of 8,934 Ordinary 25p shares each ('shares') to be
admitted to the Official List.

It is expected that permission to admit the new shares will be granted on 10
January 2002 and that trading will commence on 11 January 2002.

These shares are being issued as a result of the conversion of B Ordinary 25p
shares each into ordinary 25p shares each.

The new ordinary shares carry no entitlement to the interim dividends and will
be come identical to the existing ordinary shares after payment of the third
interim dividend on 16 July 2002
