Trading Update

Summary by AI BETAClose X

Motorpoint Group PLC has announced that its trading performance for the year ending 31 March 2027 is exceeding expectations, with Profit Before Tax (PBT) now projected to be between £9.8 million and £10.8 million, surpassing current market consensus of £9.1 million to £10.0 million. This improved outlook is attributed to stronger-than-anticipated trading volumes, successful strategic investments in technology, data, and AI, alongside margin enhancements and favourable supply dynamics, with a new store planned for Spring 2027. The company anticipates this will represent annual PBT growth of 30% to 44%, building on an 82.9% increase in FY26.

Trading ahead of expectations

Profit Before Tax (PBT) to be materially ahead of market consensus

Motorpoint Group PLC, the UK's leading independent omnichannel vehicle retailer, is pleased to provide an update on current trading and the outlook for the year ended 31 March 2027 ("FY27").

Trading volumes have been stronger than anticipated, supported by our strategic initiatives, including accelerated investment in technology, data and AI, with margin improvements yielding higher profitability per unit. Supply dynamics remain favourable and we are pleased to announce a further store has been secured to open in Spring 2027.

Given increased confidence in vehicle supply conditions, the success implementing our technology and AI strategic plans, the momentum in our performance year to date and robust outlook, we now expect that PBT for FY27 will be in the range of £9.8m-£10.8m. This is ahead of current market consensus, which is in the range of £9.1m-£10.0m and represents annual PBT growth of between 30% and 44%, building further on PBT growth of 82.9% in FY26.

The Company looks forward to providing further detail in its scheduled H1 trading update in early October 2026.
