Dealing by Director

We have received confirmation today that on 15 October 2002, 20 shares held in a
single company PEP on behalf of Laurel Powers-Freeling were sold at a price of
342.25p each. The sale was made to cover costs incurred following the
consolidation of various PEP accounts and the transfer to a new Plan Manager.
The sale has just come to light following receipt of a half year statement and
was made without Mrs Powers-Freeling's knowledge.

Mrs Powers-Freeling now holds 9,567 shares, of which 3,250 are held in a PEP in
the name of Sharelink Nominees Limited.
