Significantly increasing Knights’ scale in the South East
The acquisition of Moore Barlow LLP (“Moore Barlow”), a major independent regional law firm with offices in Guildford, Lymington, Richmond, Southampton and Woking, has completed in line with the timeframe stated in the acquisition announcement of 21 August 2026. Immediately prior to completion, Moore Barlow disposed of its personal injury, clinical negligence and Court of Protection business as planned, meaning that Knights has acquired Moore Barlow’s commercial and private client service lines.
With effect from completion, the team in Woking has re-located to Guildford, meaning that with effect from completion Knights will operate from locations in Guildford, Lymington, Richmond and Southampton, bringing our total office location count to 33. The business will trade as Knights immediately, with full technology integration enabling collaboration across the entire enlarged business from day one.
The acquisition significantly increases the scale of our business in the South of England, substantially extending our strength and depth in our core practice areas, while also adding a market-leading team in the independent schools sector, a new area for us. The acquisition also brings a high-quality team and attractive client base into the Group, both of which will benefit from having access to Knights’ wider range of services and its established platform.
The acquisition aligns with Knights' strategy to bolster its future organic growth through selective, considered acquisitions, and builds upon our significant M&A activity in the South and South East over the last 18 months.
