Johnson Matthey completes the acquisition of Cormetech

Johnson Matthey Plc ("JM") is pleased to confirm that it has today completed the acquisition of CORMETECH Inc. ("Cormetech"), which was announced on 28th May 2026.

Together with the sale of Catalyst Technologies which completed on 17th July 2026, this represents a significant reshaping of JM's portfolio. As JM transforms into a lean, focused and cash-generative business, built around its leading capabilities in platinum group metal chemistry and emissions control, the group is well-positioned to drive sustainable value creation.

The combination of JM's Clean Air Solutions business and Cormetech will create a global leader in stationary emissions control, with a significant presence in the rapidly growing data centre market. The businesses bring together highly complementary technologies, leading intellectual property and diverse customer relationships. By strengthening the group's position in an attractive growth market, Cormetech enhances JM's ability to deliver sustainable cash generation and shareholder returns over the long term.

Liam Condon, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

Today marks a new chapter for JM. With the completion of the Cormetech acquisition and the sale of Catalyst Technologies, we are now a more focused business, well-positioned to drive sustainable value creation over the long term. I am delighted to welcome our new colleagues from Cormetech to JM and look forward to building on our shared strengths to deliver for our customers and shareholders.
