Equity allocation in Kibiva Energy special purpose vehicle
Insig AI plc (AIM: INSG), a leading provider of AI-led analytics and machine-learning solutions, announces that it is to be allocated an equity interest in a new special purpose vehicle (the "SPV"), being established by Insig AI investee company ImpactScope OÜ.
Since May 2024, the Company has held a 5.44 per cent equity interest in ImpactScope OÜ. Kibiva Energy is an ImpactScope venture. Insig AI will be allocated two per cent of the SPV's issued share capital. No cash consideration is payable by the Company.
Kibiva Energy manages a 350 MW portfolio of geothermal energy assets in Kenya. Its sites are being developed to facilitate bitcoin mining and AI data centre clients. The allocation gives Insig AI shareholders exposure, at no additional cost to the Company, to captive renewable baseload power generation of the kind required by AI hyperscalers and digital asset infrastructure operators.
Richard Bernstein, Chief Executive of Insig AI, commented:
"We're pleased to have access and direct economic upside to Kibiva Energy. Sean and his team have secured a substantial and exciting commercial opportunity."
Sean Murphy, Chief Executive of ImpactScope OÜ, commented:
"The East African Rift Valley holds an estimated 10 GW of untapped geothermal potential. Microsoft, Oracle, G42 have all secured power capacity in Kenya. We are happy to have Insig AI as a strategic partner in this venture."
