Arhag to join the Hyde Group

Today (4 March 2026), the Boards of Arhag Housing Association and The Hyde Group are announcing that Arhag will join the Hyde Group from 1 April 2026.

The decisions follow both Boards concluding their due diligence and Arhag consulting with its customers.

Arhag is a London-based housing association and owns and manages just under 1,000 homes. The Hyde Group is a leading provider of housing, neighbourhood, property and community services, owning or managing around 125,000 homes across the UK.

Arhag will become a subsidiary within the Hyde Group from 1 April 2026. The consultation also invited customers to share their views on the proposal to complete a Transfer of Engagements; the legal process used to transfer Arhag's assets, liabilities and responsibilities into the Hyde Group. It is expected that this will take place within six months.

Anne McLoughlin, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Arhag, said:

"This move provides Arhag with stability and the opportunity to provide customers with a stronger and better service. We share a commitment with Hyde to work closely with customers and communities, and I'm excited about the benefits Hyde will be able to offer.

"I want to thank all those customers who took part in the consultation exercise. We've listened to the feedback and our Board studied this closely when making the decision to go ahead."

Andy Hulme, Group Chief Executive at the Hyde Group, commented:

"I'm delighted that both Boards have agreed to go ahead, after consulting with Arhag's customers. Throughout the process so far, we've found a real alignment of purpose between the organisations, which is routed in putting customers first.

"We look forward to welcoming Arhag customers into the Hyde Group."
