UK COAL announces that copies of the above together with the Notice of Annual
General Meeting, a letter to shareholders explaining the business to be
considered and Form of Proxy are being submitted to the UK Listing Authority and
will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document

The Annual Report and Accounts will be available on the Company's website at
www.ukcoal.com on 22 April 2008.

The Company's Annual General Meeting will be held at the Farmers & Fletchers
Hall, 3 Cloth Street, London EC1A 7LD on 20 May 2008 at 1.00pm.

In accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 6.1.2 the Company also
confirms that there will be a resolution put to the Annual General Meeting to
amend the Company's Articles of Association to take account of changes brought
about by phased implementation of the Companies Act 2006. A summary of the
proposed amendments is set out in the letter to shareholders explaining the
business to be considered at the Annual General Meeting.  Copies of the
Company's Articles of Association and of the proposed amendments will also be
available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing
Facility.
