Appointment of Gina Szymanski as CFO

Hammerson plc ("Hammerson" or the "Company") today announces the appointment of Gina Szymanski as Chief Financial Officer and a Director of the Company.

Gina is expected to take up her role and join the Board no later than 1 January 2027. The Company will make a further announcement as required.   

Gina joins Hammerson from AEW Capital Management, where she currently serves as Global Securities Chief Investment Officer, based in Boston, Massachusetts. Having started her career as a forensic accountant and equity analyst, she has since built extensive experience across finance, capital markets, investment, REITs and corporate strategy. Gina will relocate to the UK prior to taking up her role with the Company.

Gina's appointment follows a thorough recruitment process, supported by an independent executive search firm.

Remuneration and relocation

Gina's appointment is subject to her obtaining a visa to work in the UK. Her employment terms will be in line with Hammerson's Directors' Remuneration Policy (the "Remuneration Policy"), which has been approved by shareholders. Her gross annual salary will be £475,000 and her pension allowance will be 10% of base salary. Gina will be eligible to participate in Hammerson's Annual Incentive Plan and Restricted Share Scheme in accordance with the Remuneration Policy. Gina will also receive a buy-out award with a value equivalent to 125% of salary, and subject to a one-year vesting period, to compensate her for the loss of remuneration opportunities forfeited on leaving her previous employer. The buyout award will be granted over Hammerson shares in accordance with Listing Rule 9.3.2 on terms substantively similar to the Hammerson Deferred Bonus Share Scheme. Gina will also receive relocation support of up to £100,000 net to support her move from the United States to the UK. If she resigns within two years of joining, the buyout award and the value of her relocation support may be repayable. Full details will be set out in the Company's 2026 Annual Report.
