Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

 

Appointment reinforces focus on value creation and project delivery

 

Great Western Mining Corporation PLC, a strategic and precious metals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Edward ('Ed') Loye as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2026.

 

Ed, who was working as a geological consultant to Great Western during the second half of 2025, brings over 20 years' experience in mineral exploration and project development across rare earths ('REE'), critical, precious, and base metals. He has held senior executive and board roles in both private and listed companies, with expertise spanning mineralogy, economics, extraction, and processing.

 

Previous roles include MD of Geolithical Limited, a developer of industrial minerals and critical metals, including strontium, zinc and indium, and founder of E-Tech Metals Limited, now ReeXploration Inc. (TSX-V: REE), where he led the discovery and development of the Eureka REE project in Namibia. Ed has also held senior roles at the Camborne School of Mines and at the University of Exeter working on UK Government-funded programmes focused on critical and technology metals for the energy transition. He is a founding member of the UK Critical Minerals Association, a Fellow of the Geological Society of London, and holds MScs in both Mining Geology and Applied Mineralogy.

 

Ed will join as Chief Executive Officer on 1 February 2026, and it is the intention of the Board that he will join the Board of Directors in due course.  Further announcements will be made as appropriate.
