and
Appointment of non-board CFO
Goldplat Plc, (AIM:GDP) the AIM listed Mining Services Group, with international gold recovery operations located in South Africa and Ghana, servicing the African and South American Mining Industry, is pleased to announce an operational update for the 4th quarter ended 30 June 2026 ("Q4"), of the current financial year.
The two recovery operations achieved a strong combined operating profit for the quarter of £3,224,000 (FY Q4 2025 - £1,670,000) (excluding listing and head office costs, finance cost and foreign exchange gains/losses). Net finance cost and foreign exchange profits in Q4, mainly related to trading activities, resulted in a combined profit before tax excluding listing and head office and small subsidiary costs for Q4 of £3,439,000 (FY Q4 2025 - £766,000).
The South African operation and the Ghanaian operation achieved profits before tax for Q4 of £2,609,000 (FY Q4 2025 - £602,000) and £830,000 (FY Q4 2025 - £164,000) respectively, supported by the operations team delivering to plan and continuous supply.
Although the gold price remains high in terms of historical levels, Q4 did see some contraction in the order of 16%, which had an impact on operational margins due to price exposure.
The following events have contributed to the Q4 operating results:
Gold Recovery Ghana ("GRG")
· GRG had a productive quarter, with the focus remaining on maximizing gold recoveries from material sourced and on site, mainly from clients in Ghana.
· The local Ghana beneficiation requirement has impacted all aspects of our business, and we continue to review, update and align our process and procedures to manage the change and maximize margins.
· Our annual environmental permit and gold license has been renewed.
· GRG invested a further £351k during Q4, bringing the total capital spend for the year at £720k. The capital was incurred to improve processes, increase recoveries and improve environmental management, which will increase our ability to recover gold from material received during FY2027.
Goldplat Recovery (South Africa)
· GPR's continued focus on sourcing and building client relationships resulted in an increase in by-products market share with good volumes during Q4. These efforts, combined with solid gold recoveries from our low-grade circuits, supported by the high gold price, resulted in a good operating performance during Q4.
· Although, in the short-term, the focus will be on extracting value from the current high gold price, in the longer term the aim is to find better visibility of supply through diversifying into other precious metals or other type of gold resources. In the interim, visibility of supply of low-grade soils for our milling circuits remains strong, with more than 12 months of material for processing on site and more under contract.
· GPR invested a further £467k during Q4, bringing the total capital spend for the year at £1 299k. The capital was incurred to improve processes, increase recoveries, improve environmental management and expand production capabilities for medium term projects.
Tailings Storage Facility
Although the Company's TSF has previously been subjected to a resource estimate JORC Resource (announced in January 2016) of 81,959 ounces of gold contained in 1.43m metric tonnes (Table 1), no feasibility or economic assessment has been completed. The ability to process and determine potential value therefore remains subject to significant technical, regulatory, funding and execution uncertainties.
During the quarter a decision was made to find ways to take control of some of the uncertainties. These involve, taking ownership of the pipeline application, involving consultants to assist with the pipeline application but also with all the technical requirements around integration into DRD Gold's current infrastructure.
Progress have been made with the Water Use License application during the quarter, with geotechnical studies due to commence in September and run to the end of the calendar year. An initial concept study was completed during August 2026, and is being assessed by management.
We believe the information gathered from this should be sufficient to enable us to enter commercial discussions with DRD Gold on utilisation of their servitudes, plant and deposition capacity. We also continue to evaluate methods through which we can process the TSF, as a start, through facilities on our premises.
At the same time, we plan to update the current JORC resource and do specific recovery analysis to provide better statistical data on gold contained and recoverable in the TSF through planned processes. We anticipate providing an update on progress by the end of October 2026. We completed the drilling programme after the end of Q4.
Gold Recovery Brazil
· As announced in our Q3 operational update, we received our EPA license in April and we have commissioned our spiral equipment in the current quarter.
· Sourcing in South America remains ongoing with the focus on retaining and increasing material received from current clients and to increase market share in general. We continue to receive material from our regular sources in South America with material being sent to Ghana and South Africa for processing. In time, we will evaluate how much of this material can be processed and handled locally in Brazil.
Dividend declaration
An interim dividend of £400,000 will be paid to shareholders on 15 September 2026, at a rate of 0.23285 pence per share, with the record date being 28 August 2026 and ex-dividend date 27 August 2026. It is the intention of the board to continue assessing and distributing of value to shareholders on a quarterly basis.
Cash
Our cash balances in the group were stronger than usual at £8,820,000 at the end of Q4, due to balances payable to suppliers. The current cash balance remains strong at around £6,000,000. The cash balances will mainly be used to manage working capital requirements in the group, other capital requirements and shareholder distributions.
Chief Financial Officer
We are pleased to inform the market that, following the resignation of Brent Doster as CFO earlier this year, we have appointed a non-board Chief Financial Officer, Prasad Jayakody, who joined the Company at the beginning of August. Prasad has 30 years of extensive financial and corporate experience across different industries including mining and industrial and we are confident he will provide the necessary governance and financial leadership.
Werner Klingenberg, CEO of Goldplat commented: "Our operations continue to deliver excellent results, albeit in an uncertain environment with numerous variables, supported by increased volumes and a high albeit decreasing gold price.
The focus continues to be on strengthening our control over the outcome on the TSF, maintaining and increasing market share, improving recoveries and margins in Ghana, unlocking potential in other precious metals in South Africa and maximising value from the current high gold price.
Operationally there is a strong sustainability focus through implementing multi-disciplinary value adding systems and processes.
There is still significant work to be completed but all our efforts are focused to create a more robust business providing a niche solution to the industry it operates in."
