Hussar EP513 Pre-Drill Works

Georgina Energy Plc, GEX.L, has commenced pre-drilling civil engineering site works for the Hussar prospect re-entry drilling in EP513 following the execution of a contract with Ensign Australia Pty Ltd.  for the supply of the Ensign 970 drill rig.

The contracted Ensign 970 drill rig is anticipated to penetrate the main subsalt reservoir targets, the Townsend Formation and the fractured Neoproterozoic basement lithologies which have been independently assessed as having potential SPE PRMS (recoverable) Resources at 2U level of 283 BCF helium, 315 BCF Hydrogen and 2,925 BCF hydrocarbon gas.

Contractors have arrived on site, and the Company has begun access civil engineering works for the drilling of the Hussar prospect re-entry well. The airstrip at the Hussar 1 well is being widened and graded to ensure it is suitable for crew change aircraft and new CASA standard wind direction indicator will be fitted; once drilling commences it is anticipated that there will be approximately 12-15 crew exiting and the same number leaving on a weekly basis in a 19 seat Swearingen Metroliner.

The main access track along a 1984 seismic line is being assessed and will be cleared, levelled and graded suitable for 50 plus semi-trailer or B double truck transport (each total mass of 40-60 tonnes plus). The drilling site and camp site will be cleared, levelled, graded and compacted together with a water well or wells installed on-site.
