Board Change: Retirement of Chair and succession arrangements
GBG, the global identity and location technology business, today announces that for personal reasons Richard Longdon has indicated his intention to retire from his position as Chair and as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 30 November 2026.
Richard has served as Chair since 1 September 2022 and wishes to devote more time to his family and other personal interests. Richard has provided leadership during an important period in the Group's development, and the Board would like to thank him for his contribution to GBG during his tenure.
The Board will immediately commence a thorough process to identify and appoint a permanent successor Chair, led by the Senior Independent Director, Liz Catchpole. If a permanent Chair has not been appointed by 1 December 2026, Liz will assume the role of Interim Chair.
Liz Catchpole, Senior Independent Director, said:
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Richard for his considerable contribution to GBG. We respect his decision to retire from the role and are grateful of his commitment to an orderly transition. We look forward to building on the foundations established during his tenure."
Richard Longdon, retiring as Chair, said:
"It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of GBG. I remain fully supportive of GBG's strategy and future prospects and look forward to assisting with a smooth handover over the coming weeks."
GBG will announce its Interim results on Tuesday, 24 November 2026.
