Peak Hill Phase II Drilling Update
Forgent plc (AIM: FORG), the Australian-focused critical and precious minerals explorer, is pleased to provide an operational update on the ongoing Phase II drilling programme at its 99%-owned Peak Hill Gold-Copper Project in Western Australia.
Based on the latest laboratory schedule, the Company expects to receive assay results for 56 Phase II holes by 25 October 2026. The results will cover all 30 Phase II holes drilled at Curley’s to date, analysed for both gold and copper, and the initial 26 holes from Cathedral, a large and previously undrilled target.
The enlarged Phase II programme is expected to comprise a total of approximately 142 holes for approximately 9,400 metres of drilling, focused principally on the Curley’s and Cathedral prospects.
At Curley’s, Phase II drilling is testing the continuity and scale of the mineralisation identified during Phase I, which included a gold intersection of 2m at 3.68g/t Au from 50m.
At Cathedral, drilling commenced on the western side of this large, previously undrilled target area, which lies between the existing Curley’s and Junction prospects. The programme is designed to test Cathedral systematically and build the Company’s first subsurface geological picture across the target.
The Company intends to review the incoming assay results alongside its evolving geological interpretation and may adapt the remainder of the Phase II programme accordingly. This could include changes to drill targeting and, where supported by the results, a further enlargement of the programme.
Phase II drilling remains on track to conclude by the end of November 2026.
Results will be reviewed by the Company’s technical team as they are received, with results announced following completion of the relevant QAQC and technical review processes.
James Parsons, Chief Executive Officer of Forgent, commented:
“We are entering an exciting phase at Peak Hill. The next assay results represent our first substantial body of Phase II data and have the potential to materially advance our understanding of the scale and continuity of the mineralised systems we are testing.
At Curley’s, we are testing the continuity and scale of the gold and copper mineralisation already identified. At Cathedral, we are getting our first systematic subsurface data from the western side of a large, previously undrilled target.
If the results validate our geological interpretation, the scale of the opportunity at Peak Hill could be substantial.”
