Outstanding shallow gold results at central Curley's
Two holes return 7m gold intersections at average of 2.32g/t and 1.05g/t with individual assays up to 4.32g/t; c. 55-hole follow-up programme starts this weekend
Forgent plc, the Australian-focused critical and precious minerals explorer, is delighted to announce very encouraging gold assays at shallow depth from multiple neighbouring drill holes at central Curley’s prospect within its Peak Hill project in Western Australia, where 30 holes totalling 1,406m were completed. As a result, Forgent will initiate immediate development drilling at Central Curleys.
- 7m averaging 2.32g/t gold from 26m in CAC010, including 1m at 4.32g/t from 28m, and
- 7m averaging 1.05g/t from 49m at CAC011 including 1m at 3.63g/t from 50m.
James Parsons, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
“These are outstanding exploration results for central Curley’s and a significant step forward for Forgent’s exploration-led strategy. The combination of gold intercepts at shallow depths occurring in multiple adjacent drill holes substantially strengthens our confidence in the opportunity.
We are responding immediately by expanding, again, Phase II. The next drilling will test the connections between these intersections and investigate how far the mineralisation extends, both along the interpreted trend and at depth.
Our ambition is to turn this exploration momentum into an accelerated route towards a maiden JORC Mineral Resource. The revised programme is designed to establish whether the geological and grade continuity support that next step.”
The Curley’s Phase II drilling covered by this announcement comprises:

Holes |

Wider-spaced drilling: PKAC043–PKAC060 |

Close-spaced central drilling: CAC001–CAC012 |

The close-spaced drilling investigated the central target around the Phase I gold occurrences, while the wider-spaced holes tested the surrounding area. The samples were analysed by Jinning Pty Ltd in Perth.
The central drilling returned gold-bearing intervals in multiple holes. Significant results are summarised below.

7m averaging 2.32g/t from 26m, including 1m at 4.32g/t from 28m. Additional 2m at 1.15g/t from 44m and 1m at 1.40g/t from 49m. |
|
CAC011 |
65m |
7m averaging 1.05g/t from 49m, including 1m at 3.63g/t from 50m. |
|
CAC012 |
50m |
2m averaging 0.88g/t from 26m |
CAC010’s seven-metre intersection comprises individual primary gold grades of 0.86g/t, 0.96g/t, 4.32g/t, 3.84g/t, 1.04g/t, 3.47g/t and 1.83g/t.
PKA040 returned 2m at 3.68g/t gold from 50m, including 1m at 5.83g/t from 51m. Separate intervals in PKA040 included 3m at 0.99g/t from 39m and 3m at 0.37g/t from 30m.
CAC004 provides a useful comparison with PKA040, containing gold-bearing samples around 40m and a stronger one-metre interval at 50m.
The wider-spaced drilling, including the northern area, did not provide significant gold intersections, and has led to a change in interpretation of mineralisation. The latest working geological interpretation suggests that mineralised structures strike east-west, and dip northwards and therefore are interpreted to deepen beneath the northern area drill holes that were recently drilled. Historical drilling recorded gold-bearing intervals below 100m downhole in the northern part of Curley’s and the Company therefore now believes drill holes were terminated above the projected mineralised horizon. The Company is planning four deeper holes to test that projected mineralised horizon down dip.
Phase II continues, with the rig back on site this weekend. The immediate priority is roughly 55 new holes with 51 at central Curley’s (including approximately 30 holes on a 20x20 metre grid, 15 holes on a 40x40 metre grid and 6 holes on an 80x80 metre grid) and 4 at Northern Curley’s. Once the new holes are drilled the rig will likely return to continue the programme at Cathedral.

Competent Person's Statement
The information in this announcement that relates to exploration results, mineral resources or ore reserves is based on information compiled by Mr Edward Mead, who is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr Mead is a consultant to the Company. Mr Mead has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposits under consideration and to the activity that he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2012 edition of the `Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves' (the JORC Code). Mr Mead consents to the inclusion of this information in the form and context in which it appears in this announcement.

Figure 1: Central Curley’s significant results and planned drill holes following mineralisation to the east and west. Drill holes completed to the north were likely not drilled deep enough to intersect mineralisation. The interpretation of mineralisation has evolved from a northwest-southeast orientation, plunging/dipping to the northeast, to an east-west orientation plunging/dipping to the north.
