Gold Drilling Completed at Lander West
Follow-up Programme Tests Extensions to Confirmed Bedrock Gold Mineralisation
First Development Resources plc (AIM: FDR), the Australia-focused exploration company, is pleased to confirm that Phase I, Stage II reverse circulation (“RC”) drilling has been completed at its Lander West Gold Project in Australia’s Northern Territory.
A total of 16 holes were completed for 1,605 metres drilled, successfully testing along strike and down dip of the priority targets identified during Stage I, as well as additional magnetic targets within the Red Handed target area.
Stage I confirmed gold mineralisation in bedrock, including 7 metres at 0.40 g/t gold from 50 metres downhole, including 2 metres at 0.98 g/t gold in hole 26LWR08. The Stage II programme was designed to test extensions to the mineralisation, seeking higher grades, greater mineralised thickness and evidence of continuity.
Drilling concluded one day earlier than planned due to severe weather approaching the area. Samples are being prepared for delivery to Adelaide for analysis, with results to be reported in due course.
Tristan Pottas, Chief Executive Officer of FDR, commented:
“We are pleased to have completed our Stage II drilling programme at Lander West. Following the confirmation of gold in bedrock during Stage I, this programme has allowed us to test extensions to our priority targets and investigate additional magnetic features at Red Handed.
Having spent time on site alongside the team, I would like to thank Bullion Drilling for their excellent work throughout the programme. The crew’s professionalism, positive attitude and the way they worked together were a credit to the company.
With samples now being prepared for delivery to Adelaide, we look forward to reviewing the assay results and updating shareholders as we continue to develop our understanding of Lander West.”
