Project Funding Update : France
EQTEC plc (AIM:EQT), a provider of syngas technology and engineering services for clean conversion of waste into sustainable energy and biofuels, is pleased to announce the extension of its collaboration with GRDF, strengthened by further private funding to accelerate its advanced methanation projects.
Further Istres Project Funding
EQTEC maintains a strong existing partnership with GRDF, the French natural gas distribution operator and subsidiary of ENGIE. As previously announced on 29 September 2025, EQTEC secured private funding to support the 5-tonnes-per-day Green Gas Provence project (the" Project") in Istres, France, as part of a wider consortium funding GRDF to date has paid €177,000 to complete the pre-FEED engineering work.
The Company last week received a further €50,000 in private funding towards the Project.
New Methanation R&D Award
The Company further announces that a second consortium led by EQTEC has been awarded €400,000 in private funding from GRDF following a competitive R&D tender. This programme aims to deploy an integrated methanation system at EQTEC's demo site at the LERMAB facility at the University of Lorraine in Épinal, incorporating syngas polishing, water-gas shift, methanation and membrane separation. The consortium partners include AlphaSynt GmbH, the Paul Scherrer Institute and LERMAB / ELVEA Energy at the University of Lorraine.
The winning proposal will enable the installation of methanation equipment, supplied by AlphaSynt GmbH, at the Company's demo facility during 2026, followed by a six-month test programme designed to demonstrate the upgrading of EQTEC's high-purity syngas into renewable methane, for injection into the local gas network. EQTEC will supply engineering services, system integration support and on-site technical assistance throughout the programme. A major blue-chip utility has already expressed interest in accessing the results of the test programme in return for direct participation.
The Company expects to receive approximately €150,000 from this second funding award.
James Parsons, CEO of EQTEC, commented:
"These remain challenging conditions for EQTEC and for clean-tech companies seeking commercial scale and investment. Yet, despite these headwinds, our technology and our people are delivering progress where it matters: winning tenders, securing private funding, and moving towards commercial deployment. Our collaboration with both GRDF and our new consortium partners further consolidates our position in advanced syngas and methanation and demonstrates the capability of our Barcelona team and our technology.
This additional private funding marks the first tangible success of our renewed focus on commercial outcomes, and we expect more to follow."
