Eco Buildings Group plc is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of a high-level visit to The Gambia, undertaken at the invitation of the Ministries of Interior and Defence. The visit represents an important advance in the Company's international development strategy and its ambition to establish locally based manufacturing relationships capable of delivering affordable housing rapidly and at scale.
Gabriel Coll, representing Lumen Holdings Limited, joined the delegation and participated in the business-development engagement and discussions with the Gambian parties.
During the visit, Eco Buildings' directors and senior executives met directly with the Ministers of Interior and Defence and their teams. Discussions focused initially on the rapid delivery of high-quality housing for members of the police and armed forces, as well as the potential for broader public-sector and social-housing programmes.
The meetings explored how Eco Buildings' factory-manufactured GFRG system could support The Gambia's need for faster, more affordable construction while maintaining consistent quality and environmental performance. The discussions also considered local manufacturing opportunities, technology transfer, workforce training and the development of skilled employment.
The Company believes that The Gambia is an attractive base for the future development of Eco Buildings' activities across West Africa. Any future programme will remain subject to the conclusion of formal agreements, financing, applicable law and regulatory approvals. The Company will provide further updates when appropriate.
"We were honoured to visit The Gambia at the invitation of the Ministries of Interior and Defence and to engage directly with both Ministers and their senior teams. We were pleased to be joined by Gabriel Coll, representing Lumen Holdings Limited, as part of the business-development engagement. The Government's ambition, decisiveness and clear focus on delivering better housing were extremely encouraging.
The scale of the housing requirement calls for a fundamentally different approach. Eco Buildings' industrialised construction platform is designed to deliver rapidly, consistently and at a materially more efficient cost base than conventional construction, while creating healthier and more environmentally responsible homes.
Importantly, our discussions extended beyond the supply of individual buildings. We explored the potential for the establishment of local manufacturing facilities, skills development, technology transfer and a long-term platform capable of supporting The Gambia and, in time, wider West African markets. We are very encouraged by the initial progress achieved and look forward to updating shareholders as discussions advance."
