USDA-CVB approves ECOVAXXIN® MS field safety data
Milestone advances poultry vaccine towards US marketing authorisation
ECO Animal Health Group plc (AIM: EAH), a leading global animal health company developing and marketing branded veterinary products to improve livestock productivity and welfare, announces that the United States Department of Agriculture, Center for Veterinary Biologics (USDA-CVB) has confirmed that ECO’s US field safety trial data for ECOVAXXIN® MS, its poultry vaccine against Mycoplasma synoviae (M. synoviae), fulfils the requirement to support licensure of the product.
The field safety trial evaluated the vaccine in more than 170,000 commercial laying pullets across three sites in Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin. Following its assessment of the results, USDA-CVB concluded that the data fulfils the field safety requirements to support licensure, marking an important regulatory milestone for ECOVAXXIN® MS.
ECOVAXXIN® MS is the first product to emerge from ECO’s proprietary R&D pipeline and commercially launched in the EU in July 2026. Progress towards US licensure demonstrates continued pipeline delivery and supports ECO’s strategic geographical expansion of its portfolio, with US marketing approval expected for ECOVAXXIN® MS by the end of the calendar year.
David Hallas, CEO of ECO Animal Health commented: “We are delighted that the USDA-CVB has accepted the field safety data for ECOVAXXIN® MS, marking an important step forward in the US regulatory review of our Mycoplasma synoviae vaccine. This milestone reflects the strength of the data generated across the three field sites, and we are excited to continue advancing the last remaining regulatory requirements towards US marketing authorisation while simultaneously progressing the rest of our R&D pipeline to improve livestock productivity and welfare.”
