Snowy IP Survey Results

Summary by AI BETAClose X

East Star Resources Plc has announced positive results from its induced polarisation survey at the Snowy Epithermal Target in Central Kazakhstan, identifying a new geophysical anomaly spanning approximately 1,700 meters west to east from a depth of 100 meters, with amplitudes ranging from 7 to 9 m V/V, suggesting potential for low sulphidation epithermal gold deposits. The anomaly is open to the west and east, and further exploration is planned to determine the source and test quartz veining at depth, building on surface gold samples found in the area.

Snowy IP Survey Results

New geophysical anomaly over epithermal gold target

East Star Resources Plc (LSE:EST), the Kazakhstan-focused gold and copper exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the results of the induced polarisation ("IP") survey from the Snowy Epithermal Target in Central Kazakhstan. These lines are approximately 1km east of the IP lines completed in 2025. The 2026 IP lines were completed over an intensely altered tuff unit with numerous quartz veinlets noted.

This area shows a distinct east-west striking chargeability trend associated with a volcanic unit being targeted for an epithermal deposit. The anomaly is discrete, spanning approximately 1,700 m west to east starting from 100 m depth. The anomaly is open to the west and east. The anomaly has amplitudes ranging from 7 - 9 m V/V. The amplitude is plausible for low sulphidation epithermal targets and requires further exploration to determine the source of the chargeability anomaly and test the quartz veining at depth.

Alex Walker, East Star CEO, commented:

"Based on these results, we look forward to continuing to progress the Snowy Target for a potential low sulphidation epithermal deposit. The target sits between two known gold deposits of similar mineralisation and with gold samples at surface it remains a compelling target. The Company will determine the best path and timing to move to the next phase of exploration taking into account all of our other work plans, in particular the Endeavour joint venture field work."

Survey Details

The Snowy IP Survey was conducted as a pole-dipole survey comprising four north-south lines, each approximately 1,100 m in length, at a frequency of 0.125 Hz. Initial lines employed an attempted mixed 50 m / 100 m dipole configuration that was subsequently corrected by infill acquisition using 50 m dipole spacing with 50 m transmitter moves. Measurements were recorded simultaneously on a 32-channel receiver.

Smart Geophysics from Kazakhstan conducted the survey using a GDD Tx4 transmitter and GDD Rx-32 receiver. Quality control and interpretation was conducted by Mitre Geophysics Pty Ltd out of Australia. Mitre noted that the survey did not achieve the designed charge input and therefore the results may return lower than expected chargeability anomalies.
