RedLeg wins Double Gold

at the

San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Blavod Wines & Spirits plc (AIM:BES), the AIM quoted owner of premium drinks brands, is delighted to announce that RedLeg, its Caribbean Rum spiced with vanilla and ginger, has won Double Gold, the highest award in its category, at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is regarded as one of the most respected spirits competitions in the world and was the first comprehensive, international spirits judging to be held in the United States on an annual basis. Products from all over the world are evaluated by top spirits professionals and are judged in a blind, consensual procedure ensuring competitive integrity and making this competition amongst the most reputable and recognised competitions in the spirits industry.

By winning the highest award in its category, RedLeg has been invited to participate in the 2013 "Double Gold" nationwide wine and spirits tastings, touring some of the major cities in the USA including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, and Honolulu as well as the Phoenix Biltmore Wine & Spirits Festival. This will ensure significant exposure to the US drinks trade, specialist media and the opportunity for the Directors of Blavod to meet distributors at one or two selected events.

RedLeg is a premium rum, blended with spices. It is distilled in the Caribbean and then brought to the UK for bottling. The secret to the great tasting flavour is down to the blending. The rum is left to rest in old oak barrels and infused with Jamaican Vanilla and Ginger creating a very smooth tasting rum with a hint of sweet spice.
